Our Story
One summer night on a backyard patio, two Canadian dads – friends since they were seven – were kicking back with cold drinks and catching up. One’s an LED lighting expert, the other’s an architect. As they looked around, they noticed something…
Every patio had the same tired bare bulbs.
“Wouldn’t it be cool if patio lights actually had some personality?”
And just like that, SNAPS was born.
It wasn’t all smooth sailing – 18 months of sketching, testing, breaking things, fixing things (and a whole lot of laughs) – but we ended up with something we’re proud of: an easy, fun way to add a little charm to your lights.
SNAPS are snap-on decorative shades that turn ordinary patio string lights into instant decor – no tools, no fuss.

Unlike traditional holiday or themed lighting, which can take hours to set up and take down, SNAPS can transform your entire patio in minutes. Whether you’re throwing a party, setting a vibe, or just refreshing your outdoor space, changing up your look is as easy as popping on a new set of SNAPS.
